New Report!

Following the unprecedented wildfires of 2017 and 2018, our research team engaged community leaders throughout British Columbia to better understand perspectives on wildfire risk and the barriers to engaging in risk mitigation and wildfire preparedness in the wildland urban interface.

Thank you to the 143 community representatives who participated in our second survey conducted in 2018. In the attached report, we summarize the results including community issues and priorities, perceptions of wildfire risk, preferences for fuels management and policy, and barriers to engagement with programs to reduce wildfire risk.
